Now this is more like it. After the disappointing debut that was Victory Road, TNA brought us a really good PPV to cherish and remember. 8 matches on here, not 1 I can even call bad. This show is notable for two reasons: 1) Randy Savage's final wrestling match which, let's be honest, wasn't that good. It was mid at best. And 2) That spectacular main event between America's Most Wanted and Triple X. That Elix Skipper hurricanrana off the top of the cage remains legendary. Highly recommend the main event and Williams vs. Sabin. The rest, minus the Savage six-man and The New York Connection match, is still good, hence making this a show you should check out at least once. You won't be disappointed. A huge improvement over Victory Road the previous month, but this still contained some classic LOLTNA moments. 3Live Kru defended the NWA tag titles against Team Canada in a rematch from Victory Road. I thought this was actually above average and the crowd was ridiculously into Road Dogg & R-Truth. The finish was very overbooked with Scott D’Amore and Johnny Devine getting involved and this resulted in Bobby Roode pinning Road Dogg to regain the tag titles. The 6-Man tag sucked and was honestly ridiculously boring. I will say that Hector Garza was really good and it’s a massive shame we lost him as early as we did. Monty Brown vs Abyss is next and I thought this was a a good match. It started off really slow but turned into a nice little fight. Now the rules of this match were pinfalls, submission, or getting slammed into thumb tacks. However, they completely botched the finish as Abyss completely missed the tacks and essentially had to role his back into them. Pat Kenney & Johnny B. Badd wrestled the The NYC in a really shitty television match. Even in 2004 it just felt odd watching Disco Inferno and Marc Mero wrestling, but seeing Jackie in that red gear made this slog worth it. DDP vs Raven is a match I had no expectations for but thought it was actually a pretty good match. Raven was still able to perform well back in 2004-2005 and for his credit the nearly 50 year old DDP looked good here as well. Petey vs Sabin was unsurprisingly an excellent match. Sabin at one point leaped from the crowd onto Petey, various awesome near falls between them happened, and Petey of course retained the belt with a fuck finish. It’s a huge shame that Petey wasn’t positioned as a top guy in TNA because the dude is really fucking good, and Sabin got a world title but that unfortunately lasted maybe 2 weeks. Jeff, Styles, and Savage vs Kings of Wrestling was hilariously bad pretty much every way. First off they did a kidnapping angle to write off Savage until the final few minutes, but beyond that this entire match was just really fucking boring. Savage came out in the final 2 minutes, did a few punches, and performed this awful pin to Jarrett in order to win. I find it so unbelievably sad that is how Randy Savage’s career came to an end. AMW vs Triple X is remembered for the insane spot where Elix Skipper performed the “New School” to Chris Harris on top of the cage. The match itself is fucking awesome and remains one of the best main events in TNA/Impact history. Daniels was bleeding like crazy and the ring looked liked something out of a horror movie with the amount of blood on it.
