I am a stay-at-home mom and part-time/full-time, kind-of-in-between proofreader. I chose proofreading because I wanted to be able to do something that I enjoyed to bring in extra income without sacrificing time as a stay-at-home mom. So extremely happy with my decision to do that and to use Proofread Anywhere. The reviews and everything that I found as far as the training itself for Proofread Anywhere's general course, which is the one I ended up taking, was excellent. Had, you know, just rave reviews on the training itself, but it also had the marketing piece and the business structure setup and guidance, I guess you'd say, included in the course as well. And that was huge for me because that was -- I felt like proofreading was kind of almost going to be the easy part. Not that it's easy, but of the two, the business stuff, I just had no idea where to begin. So that was very helpful, and I'm very glad that I did ended up doing that. But again, the training is extremely thorough. They -- I think Caitlin even says in the, the course itself up toward the beginning in one of the videos that she teaches you how to fish, and that is very much the case. There is no hand-holding. And I don't mean that in a bad way; there are all of the tools that you need to succeed, but it prepares you for the real world of having to go out and get what you want, you know? Clients don't just fall into your lap, and it gave me all the tools that I needed to go pursue and be confident in pursuing work once I graduated and you know, it was -- I followed the advice of some people in the grad group as well and treated it like it was my job to do that until I got to where I wanted to be. And so like I said, it was really, really good for us and our family. It helps that it's something that I enjoy doing. So it's kind of an outlet at the same time. But yeah, so now I'm up to pretty much capacity of what I can handle in a week with still, you know, obviously being a stay-at-home mom, but I'm able to proofread literally anywhere. And I mostly work while they're asleep, so it doesn't, you know, encroach on that time, which was the #1 thing for me, but I'm very happy with the results that I've gotten. I think that we had a lot of life changes in the year after I completed the course. So if I can build this and get to where I am with all the stuff that we went through, you know, change-wise, just in general, then I truly believe that anybody can do this. Each summer the nation's TV critics gather in LA to question those who produce and star in hundreds of shows, during an era that's been called "Peak TV," because so much is available. Millions of Americans are enjoying the lazy, hazy days of summer vacation, but ABC stars are busy filming new episodes to have them ready when the fall season begins a month and a half from now. For the cast of Black'ish, summer vacation is over! "It's like a wonderful family reunion," Marsai Martin told me. The young actress, who plays Diane Johnson, says she's happy to be back at work for season 6 of the hit show. This fall, her series will be preceded on Tuesday nights by a spin-off called Mixed'ish. The new series - set in 1985 - tells the back story of the character played by Tracy Ellis Ross, who narrates the action. Her younger self is played by Arica Himmel from Manhattan. "This is my first real job being in this TV show," she told me at an ABC party in LA last week. "And, being here with all these people who I recognize from TV. It's so amazing, and I really love this." With so many TV shows competing for your attention, events like this meet and greet have become more important and more elaborate, which is why most of the ABC stars were there. 'It's simple. You imagine it - and then you make it so' ASSEMBLY was due to be performed on stage in July 2020 and the production process began back in December 2019 when members of the community from our home boroughs of Camden and Westminster were invited to participate in a series of workshops with writer Nina Segal and director Joseph Hancock. Through those workshops, Nina and Joseph formed the first Donmar Local Company, who were due to perform on the Donmar stage in July 2020. Three rehearsals in, lockdown began and the project had to pause. The company kept in touch and the Creative Team began to consider how ASSEMBLY might be reimagined as a live digital experience. In this seven-minute film, Nina and Joseph discuss that process: its challenges, the enthusiasm and resilience of the company, and the surprising positive outcomes of these uncertain times.
