I admire her for speaking out because some celebrities like to hide things like this. This transparency helps people.

I had a stroke at the age of 31, it started with a seizure. I was at work and it happened just in front of my teammate. The stroke was ischemic, but it was followed by a massive brain haemorrhage because the blood clot just made the vein rupture. I was in critical condition. Already pronounced dead, somehow I came back. Fell into coma for a while. People were thinking I wasn't going to make it. When I woke up, all I could do was moving my eyes. No speaking, no movement in any other part of my body. It was scary. Intense physiotherapy saved me, though. Today I walk like nothing happened, but I still feel pain in my left leg. My left hand remains partially paralysed. I still have speech problems, but I'm here. And I worked on it so hard that I was able to go back to work. I'm an electrician in the big rolling stock company, I build trains for living. You need dexterity for that. I learned to use my hand in different ways and it doesn't disrupt my work at all. I'm as fast as I was before, and I think this is my biggest accomplishment.

I was having a stroke and drove home from the store perfectly fine. BUT my speech was garbled. I made lunch and ate it and my friend called and couldn’t understand me. She ran over to my house and knew to get me to emergency room. Cat scan show having stroke and with only 25 mins left in that window was given medication. It helped for sure. I have no residue issues at all. Thank God

I’m 55 and I have had over 40 strokes. I have a rare brain disease called Cadasil. I wished we could get more coverage on it.
