I understand the landlord has a right to be paid. You must pay rent. Steven Summers in my opinion is a decent guy. He's not a push over but he gave his tennent a chance to make up the payments.

Doesn't sound like the elderly gentleman can take care of himself. He needs a casewker.

First thing you pay each month is your rent. You have to pay the rent.

When tenants don't pay who will pay the mortgage?
shoanblevins922 (7 years ago)
I have grown boys, I stay on them about the point of working their butts off. Work two jobs if u have to. Things will not get better in this world. God bless all you guys and girls trying to make it.

If a tenant isn't paying rent how is the landlord going to pay for necessary repairs?
godmadesam (6 years ago)
Steven is one of the good landlords. God bless him. Why can’t people (his tenants) treat him as such!?

I don't really understand. All of the places that I have ever rented I was responsible for my own pest control. I bring the bugs in I need to get rid of them.

When the check bounces, it is a criminal matter.

Wow after reading the comment section I'm having second thoughts about renting my house.

As a landlord, I feel for the landlords. Mortgage still needs to be paid no matter what, it is not the responsibility of the landlord to basically pay for these families to live for free. People need to find places that they can afford. There shouldn't be cable on if you're getting evicted.

What are landlords supposed to do? The government is relying on them to provide homes for low-income families, but once they move in, there is no support for the landlord when the tenant turns out to be aggressive, threatening, destructive to the property, and not paying the rent. No tenancy should continue for 10 months or longer after the tenant has stopped paying the rent. The landlord is paying rent on his own home presumably and now has to come up with the rent for his rental home as well. Landlord should be able to get non-paying or destructive tenants out of their rental homes very quickly before more debt accrues or the house is completely trashed. And I'm appalled - stunned, actually, at how some people leave rental places. Walls kicked in, electric wiring stolen, lights and windows broken, furniture destroyed, floors covered inches deep in dog feces.................it just goes beyond my comprehension to figure out why people do things like this. And I also wonder what landlords are failing to do when their tenants turn out to be like this.

In my neighborhood rent for two bedroom is $1000 a month. I am a LANDLORD I rent $600. I have expense to maintain the home. If my tenant doesnt pay they have to leave

The increased rents r happening all over the US. That is y, we r seeing many more evictions across the board. It's happening in Europe also.

Finacial education, budgeting, family planning should all be taught in school. A lot of these issues could be avoided if people knew this, and followed it.
