If you back the ball joint nut off but don't take it all the way off, and then use the pickle fork without the jack supporting the control arm, the spring tention will help break the ball joint loose. Then put the jack under the control arm remove ball joint nut and lower control arm untill the spring can be removed. You can always put a chain around the spring for safety.

What would cause the lower control arm to not drop down? Im trying to replace them but lower control wont drop down like yours. I appreciate any help. Thank you
