Good looking out man. I already pulled my safety switch on my 5400, considered replacing the starter even though it was cranking just the other week, gonna check out the ground on the battery. I replaced the flywheel key and suddenly didn't receive power to anything from the fully charged battery.

If I short a safety switch, would that help trouble shoot the problem (or are any in the open position that that should be closed) and how many are there with a general location? Do you know where we can get a service manual and why don't manufacturers provide them with such expensive equipoment?

My cub cadet no start, no power but when try to connect new battery, I get sparks. Can anyone suggest any possible issues. Thanks and God Bless.

Having the same problem. I will have to check this out. Can you unplug safety switches in order to test?

Cub was running and just plain would not restart. No clicking, no power to the meter. Spent 2 days continuity testing solenoid with battery, and all 3 other safety switches (PTO, BRAKE AND SEAT). Disabled seat switch but removing the electrical bus in the connector. All other switches and solenoid tested AOK!
