i agree with you. it hurt when pride fighters were getting knocked out after the cohesion with the ufc. hendo, wanderlei, big nog, cro cop, aoki, etc. etc. even gomi recently. i agree that this is the end of an era. this is the beginning (if not begun already) of an era that features much more well-rounded, huge [for their weight], ultra-quick fighters such as GSP, rashad, lyoto, brock, junior dos santos, etc. it's kind of sad but it's a good outlook for the future.

03: I'M NOT SURE OVEREEM WOULD SMASH FEDOR. Their wins over Rogers are TWO DIFFERENT STORIES.

While I do agree that Fedor hasn't been fighting the "best" competition, it may be too premature to understate his current resume.

even though ur generation is retiring there are plenty of great fighters that will take their place.

Fedor is still a great fighter, and I still would edge towards him over Lesnar, Velasquez and Carwin. This is because Fedor's style has gone very reckless since the end of PRIDE. I still think strikers and wrestlers pose no threat to him, but what we saw against Werdum was that Fedor's recklessness and lack of patience caused him to go in all guns blazing against a submission expert. Fedor never jumped into Nogeuiras guard - he was at cautious as he needed to be then, but now..Fedor is reckless

but if you think about it, tito has fought the last 4 ufc champions in his last 4 fights besides shogun, and in all of those last 4 fights he looked like he had a chance of winning, he had a close bout with chuck until chuck tko'ed him, he clearly beat rashad evans until a 1 pt deduction made it a draw, he almost submitted machida, he had that triangle tight, and he had a razor sharp decision against forrest, if at least 2 or 3 of those fights went his way he would still be a contender nodoubt.

Fedor is a great martial artist , but i will agree with rvdtito4llife, he has not looked so dominant , rogers did some damage to him, arlovski was giving him trouble until he got sloppy, now granted i dont think he looked bad against werdum and he has a means to come back from, the number heavyweight spot has been up in air for a while imo, i reckon if he fought overeem, barnett, lesnar, cain he would be in trouble. im sad to hear frank shamrock retires , he is one of the reasons i love mma

Now Fedor does not have the leverage he used to have. Now he is going to have to be more flexible in negotiations. He is still a big name, one loss is only a set back. Fedor has to prove he is the best in the world by setting up a fight with Brock. and taking a more reasonable deal. Brock will still want that fight. To know he has a victory over Fedor. If Fedor can win that fight then his stock goes up again and he can make more money off a rematch. Fedor has to fight UFC now unless he retires
