Most review channels are about taking bad content (or content that the reviewer considers bad) and verbally assaulting it. And while that's well and good, that's not what my channel is about. I'm going to take some of my favorite movies and defend them. So check out my show, and I hope you enjoy it.

I just found out that Oliver Tree died.
I've been listening to Oliver Tree for a long time, enjoying his very off the wall, fun music, and I was in absolute shock when I found out that he died.
RIP to a very unique, and divisive artist.

Film review: Annaconda (2025):
The 2025 Annaconda reboot is pretty solid. Rather than going the straightforward reboot route, Anaconda is more meta, focusing on a group of friends making an Annaconda reboot in the Amazon Rainforest. This is pretty cool, and adds a unique element to the film. On top of that, the characters are great. Grif is pretty solid, as Paul Rudd does a great job giving him a likable edge, and even when he doesn’t always do good things, you understand why he’s doing what he’s doing, Doug is pretty entertaining, having the same comedic flair Jack Black usually brings to a role, and having good chemistry with the other cast, Claire is alright, as she has funny moments and Thandiwe Newton gives a solid performance, Kenny is legit hilarious, as he has some genuinely great lines, and Steve Zahn, who is an insanely underrated comedic actor, is great in the role, Ana is a decent antagonist, played well by Daniela Melchior, and contrasts off the main cast well, and Santiago the snake handler absolutely steals the show as the snake Handler Santiago, as he has some genuinely great lines and Selton Mello gives an incredibly fun and eccentric performance. The humor is also pretty good. It’s not the funniest movie ever, but there’s some decent laughs and gags. The snake is also really cool. It really looks big and menacing, and adds some legitimate danger to the film. And the action is really good. It’s really tense, bombastic, and fun, really drawing the audience in, and making the film a very explosive watch. Overall, Annaconda (2025) is a solid, fun reboot, with great characters, solid jokes, and explosive action. It’s not an absolute masterpiece, but for what it is, it’s a genuinely fun, really enjoyable comedy. If you’re in the mood for a good laugh, give this film a watch, you won’t be disappointed!

Short film review: Twisted Plots Pilot.
You might remember that I’ve been promoting Seamus Coughlin’s new series, Twisted Plots, in my community posts. Well, the pilot for Twisted Plots, titled Wisdom 2, recently premiered on May 22nd. And after watching it, it’s a pretty solid start.
The pilot follows a scientist who invents cloning technology. But during the process of celebrating his success, he ends up kissing his assistant, despite being married. In order to prove that he’s not a bad person for this, the scientist clones himself to see if his clone also ends up cheating. But each time, the clone refuses, leading the scientist to get upset and kill each clone.
Right off the bat, the story is very fascinating. It honestly feels like something from the Twilight Zone, using a supernatural element, in this case cloning technology, to comment on an element of our humanity. The scientist clearly feels remorse for cheating on his wife, emphasized by a flashback of how the 2 met when they were young. But due to his own ego and unwillingness to take accountability, the scientist tries to use his own technology to prove that he did nothing wrong. But what he proved instead was that he had every capacity to refuse and be faithful; he just chose not to be. It’s pretty heavy stuff.
But despite that, the short does have some bits of comedy. Seamus’ satirical edge is present throughout the short, with some absurd scenarios and clever lines. This is best exemplified in the detective character. The detective serves as a good foil for the scientist. Not just because the detective is trying to uncover the scientist murdering his own clones, but also because his alcoholism serves as both a funny running gag, and an interesting parallel to the scientist, as both are unable to take accountability for their own actions. It’s a really interesting dynamic that the episode does a good job exploring.
And the episode ends on a line that is genuinely really good and sums up the episode nicely. I don’t want to spoil the line, but it’s genuinely really good and serves as a great wrap-up to the episode.
Overall, Wisdom 2 is a really good short film that serves as a great pilot for Twisted Plots. It’s a brilliant mix of funny, thrilling, tragic, and poignant, built with a satirical edge and unique charm. If you want something really interesting and funny, this is definitely worth watching. Overall, really good start, massive thanks to Seamus, and all the animators and backers that made Twisted Plots possible, and I’m super excited to see where Twisted Plots goes from here!

Short film review: All In Good Time
When I heard that Mauler, one of my favorite Youtubers, released a short film, I was very excited to check it out. And after watching it, yeah it's pretty cool.
The film is essentially one long conversation. Basically this guy who's part of a criminal empire is killing all of these people, and when his gun jams, he ends up having a conversation with one of the people he's holding hostage. And it's very interesting. Jason Flemyng and Nicholas Rowe give fantastic performances, both feeling very dramatic and full of passion, and the banter they have is genuinely interesting. You really feel what both characters are like, and are engaged in both of stories. Visually, there's not really a ton of variety, as the entire film just takes place in an empty warehouse, with the opening and ending briefly cutting to outside of the film, but it is still decent. And the ending is very impactful, giving some good closure and impact. Neat stuff.
Overall, All In Good Time is a very simple and effective short film from one of my favorite Youtubers. The atmosphere is potent, the acting is great, the story is engaging, and it's overall very interesting and effective. If you want to check out the film for yourself, it's free to watch on Mauler's channel. Great film all around, and I'm excited to see what Mauler makes next!
