Bruce Springsteen Backstage, ghouls, goblins and even the Jersey Devil roamed — and this pumpkin-shaped pass was your ticket on Oct. 31, 1980. Happy Halloween from all of us on E Street! (7 months ago)

Bruce Springsteen Leaving behind what he called a “season of obscurity,” Bruce landed on the covers of Time and Newsweek. That feat, a twin billing typically reserved for presidents and heavyweights, helped introduce him to a national audience 50 years ago this week. “I’d fixed it good so I couldn’t go back, only forward,” Bruce later wrote. “So that’s where we went.” (7 months ago)

Bruce Springsteen Bruce's idea was to record demos for the next E Street Band album. But at home in New Jersey, singing into a 4-track cassette machine, he captured something far more complete — stark, vivid songs that didn’t call for anything beyond his voice and instrumentation. Studio sessions couldn’t match the feel of the cassette versions. “This is it,” Bruce finally declared, delivering "Nebraska" exactly as he’d taped it: haunting, spare and enduring — released on this day in 1982. A 1980 hit is still a hit in 2024. Anyone agree?

My dad's favorite song. We used it with proud and respect at his funeral a month ago, in church.

It’s unbelievable how a song can turn your mood from bottom to the top in 3 minutes. What a singer this guy is, thank you Bruce

One thing I appreciated about Bruce's music was it was all about the working man and real problems, Not just the stereotypical love song

80s music was the best music. Hands up who is with me.

This song. The lyrics basically say "I'm bored, lonely, tired, horny, and my life sucks." And somehow it's an awesome song and we feel better for listening to it. How? How is it so GOOD?
