My grandfather passed away and he loved this song. We played it at his funeral. I know he's looking down on me now...

Very sad song, but it makes me happy to hear it. It lifts my soul and gives me hope. Plus no one sings it like Johnny. R.I.P.

I'm french, and my grandfather, who was a farmer, passed away a few days ago. This morning, his friend Steve Waring, an american singer who sings in french, played this song on the banjo and the hurdy gurdy with his wife at the cemetery. It was a beautiful moment with all the family and friends. I miss him so much

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

My mom just passed away today and she loved Johnny Cash so much. He was a huge part of her and my upbringing and this song is so perfect for right now.

What I love about this song is its simplicity - and its just a singer and a strum - nothing fancy, just keeping it simple. Probably a song Johnny Cash learned at his mother's knee.
