So Long And Thanks For All The Drinks
Hey Practical Fans,
Happy Summer! You’re all fantastic! You’ve not seen the last of Drunk Disney!
Now for the bad news: The next Drunk Disney will be the last.
For a while now, we’ve been struggling with how to say goodbye to a project that has brought us friends and collaborators, helped us hone our voices, and gave us the confidence to create more projects. We’ve had many discussions about the series — if we could keep it going, how and when to end it — and we’ve accepted that nowadays we are not able to produce Drunk Disney at the quality we used to, and our passion is with our new projects like Dead Meat and DnDnD, which we’re endlessly grateful you’ve followed us to.
We’re proud of the sketch comedy Practical Folks was founded on, of the livestreams that allowed us to interact with so many of you, of Power Hour - one of our personal favorite creative endeavors - and of all the laughs we hope we brought you as Practical Folks. We always had ideas and ambitions beyond Drunk Disney, and your support and contributions have helped us grow to the creators we are today. We’re so proud of Drunk Disney, and now we’re proud and excited about Dead Meat, the Dead Meat Podcast, and DnDnD. We hope you are too.
YES, we’ve got one more Drunk Disney to share with you. We’re shooting for August or September, and we’ll spread the word when it’s out.
We haven’t forgotten about Drunk Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith either, and are working on how we can get that finished, but don’t feel confident in announcing a release date yet.
One last bit of good news: We’ve made publicly available on YouTube some behind-the-scenes videos we made for our patrons (thank you, patrons!!). We’ll also be posting all 14 movie commentary tracks we’ve recorded so you can all enjoy them :)
Here’s *to you* and to all the fun we had, the friends we all made along the way, and many, many drinks. We started the series as 20-somethings looking to make you all laugh. Now, in our 30s, we hope you’ll follow us to new frontiers where the jokes are better and drinking much more infrequent.
