Pokin was born in Illinois. She was raised in Bolingbrook until age ten when her family left the childhood home and relocated to Plainfield. At sixteen, Pokin obtained an internship at a radio station and at 18 was hired as a board operator, After high school, Pokin moved west, to Colorado and attended the Colorado Film School. She received a certificate in Film, writing/directing and earned her BFA from the University of Colorado at Denver. In 2017, Pokin published her first novel, 'Dear Aunt Catherine'. Pokin published a short, scary story 'Birdie Nook' and a short, 1970's mystery/kidnapping 'The Strange Abduction of Freddy Heddy Hardcrumble Part 1: Freddy' in 2023.
Pokin resides in Colorado and continues to write.
