What is so incredible about this most cherished woman, is her kindness to herself, to her children and even to her ex husband. And no nastiness, her acceptance of his choice.. and how she managed through such incredible pain. A remarkable and incredible woman.

I too once got a phone call from a man claiming his wife was having an affair with my husband. Alas, I did not get a book out of it because he called the wrong Rachel Harrison. But it makes a great story to tell at parties!

I read it in one sitting. What a writer! I was in it with her. Gobsmacked at the speed of the break. Do you ever really know someone? Belle is full of grace.

How is he a loving father when he walked out on his kids?? Dear me, she's still accomodating him even after writing the book.

Her fiancé's insistence on the wording of the pre-nup, plus his subsequent shielding of accounts in his name, sounds to me like he had a long-term plan to bilk her out of her assets. It didn't just casually happen that way.

The red flag as asking you to change the prenuptial

Sounds like Belle came to the marriage with financial standing and society contacts. Sadly, It also sounds like her husband targeted her for her wealth and connections. He thought he could stay in the marriage for the money but once he had his own and half of hers we was on to the next.

Young women cannot trust the trad wife option. I hope they realize how much power they are relinquishing. If it doesnt work out you can bet they will need to start from scratch.

I wish the best to Belle Burden and her children, her story is heart-breaking. It‘s scary to realize that we as women can easily infantilize ourselves in marriage ( at least in my generation born in the ‘50s)...and of course aided by societal pressure and influence especially in that high society sphere...love the interview and will buy the book.

I continue to enjoy learning more about Belle and experiencing her via her interviews. She is so poised, resilient, and incredibly grounded.
