Hello random YouTubers! I created this channel waaay back in 2008 when I was living the good life in San Diego and thought about doing some freelance video production work on the side so I went with SoCalFreelance for a channel name. This YouTube channel has all kinds of original stuff on it from live concerts, hobbies, to local area events. Thanks for stopping by! 🤘

I am also Greek...and this is correct. Unless any of you have a time travel machine and can go back to the precise point during the battle, when King Leonidas uttered μολὼν λαβέ, then I'm certain, scholars and academics of ancient languages would have had this investigated time and again.

I once asked a Greek Tourist if he had seen "300". His response was "But of course! Just as every American has seen Rambo!"

I'd like to see that movie with them speaking in the original tongues of those people they were portraying

Back in the day, Greek was spoken with a ridiculous and incomprehensible Christian Bale as Batman voice.

I get the feeling that, this is going to be the rallying cry for all Europeans in the coming battle. Come and take them, if they dare, come and take our lives, our future, and our freedom.

So... I see about 15 comments that say 15 different ways to pronounce this.

Actually, "Μολών" doesn't only mean "come". It means "after struggles and difficulties, come". So, when Leonidas said "Μολών Λαβέ" he meant, "Struggle to get them".

A Greek tourist taught me this.

It sounds like La-Veh and that's  current Greek.
iannamico (5 years ago)
It literally means COME TAKE. They didn't use or have conjunctions like and back then.

I pronounce it as " So-crates Johnson."
