M Mathews 6'7"300lbs did not want to compete vs J Cantwell 6'8"325lbs to start Left Tackle, Mathews wanted LT given to him. NFL will not.

You can rationalize all you want about why Matthews chose A&M over Miami but I guarantee its not just about money. Coaches matter and both teams have good coaches...head coach and position coach. There is also the campus, the educational advantages at each school. I am sure that Matthews also saw that 3 players on the Oline at A&M were highly drafted in this last NFL Draft. What about opportunity to play early? I saw that A&M has a higher preseason ranking than Miami. What about wanting to play in the best football conference? We all know that traditionally the SEC has the best competition. Had Matthews been a 4 Star OL then maybe he could have an opportunity to play early for Miami but I'm sure Coach Elko said Matthews would have the chance to compete for a starting position in the OL at A&M and my guess is that that's what sealed the deal for A&M. Again, its not always about the money. I'm sure UM offered a similar amount as A&M. Besides, being a 5 star player doesn't guarantee a successful career in college football. A&M has had several 5 star players in recent memory that ended up as busts. Gig 'em Aggies!

I saw Jatori williams on film and like him more than cheerleader Mark. I truly believe Mario misled TAM into going all in on Mark but the real target was Jatori.
