I started to ship them so hard since the pilot episode, season 1 episode 1, when nick had a chance to go with caroline but he dropped it and ran away to find jess than sang the song "I had the time of my life" from Dirty Dancing and Jess started to cry.

Honestly my favorite thing for this whole thing is that the drive in movie was “Dirty Dancing” it just ties it perfectly to the beginning and it’s so amazing.
