I’ve got bad news & good news. First the bad. No stream on Saturday the 20th because I’m taking the wife and kids to my mom’s to celebrate Father’s Day. Good news is that I’m having the longest stream of my career on Sunday for Fathers Day! This is for all the gamer dads out there!

The illuminate are definitely a step above the others in difficulty, especially if you aren't familiar with all the new units.

move quickly, choose equipment wisely, use cover. If you have a breaker, dont be afraid to spam it, ammo is expendable. If you have stratagems you didnt use in the fight, replace them for something you will use in the fight. Bring at least 1 Anti-tank weapon/stratagem (preferably recoilless or auto cannon for weapons and/or orbital rail cannon). Taking a second to think tactically before you start a mission is good too, plan your routes, objectives, and exfil. Dont take any gun fights you dont have to, its possible to sneak around, especially with the scout armor. On the armor note, pick the armor that helps you for that mission, if its a defense, wouldnt hurt to bring heavy armor, or medium to light for the long missions, but the passives can really make or break you sometimes.

I've been playing on level 10 and loving it. For illuminate, the biggest issue is when there are 50 flying overseers. For the terminids, the alpha strain with the endless stalkers is brutal. Basically the biggest challenge I have found comes from hordes of medium level enemies with a lot of HP, the raw damage output is just hard to keep up with and you need to find novel strategies, like the last round I played one player was stunning bugs with the halt shotgun and grenades while the rest of us mowed them down, it worked great.

You put up a good fight, but yeah, could see your gear was classic release stuff and not well tailored to the new enemies.
