It is with a heavy heart that we acknowledge the passing of Patrick Muldoon. To many of us, he wasn't just an actor; he was the original Austin Reed, the charming face that ushered in a new era of romance and rivalry on Days of Our Lives. Whether he was caught in the middle of the iconic Carrie and Sami tug-of-war or lighting up the screen with that signature smoldering look, Patrick brought a grounded, leading-man energy that defined 90s soap royalty.
His presence in the daytime community was as warm off-camera as it was magnetic on-screen. Losing a member of our Salem family always feels personal, and Patrick’s legacy as a kind colleague and a fan-favorite performer will remain etched in the "hourglass" forever. Our thoughts are with his loved ones and the countless fans who grew up alongside him.

There's a bit of a tradition going on here - just as Chad delivers Abby's baby, her father Jack delivered Abby when he and Jennifer were stranded in a cabin, and Jennifer was delivered by her father Bill when he and Laura were similarly stranded in a cabin. If I was Charlotte I would check into University Hospital as soon as she learns she is pregnant and stay there until after the baby is born.
