This Professor will never convince a Black American, who has endured the systemic roadblocks (Educational/Medical/Financial/Employment/Justice/Etc), and implicit bias embedded throughout society for generation(S) since reconstruction, that white privilege does not exist.

The problem with that discussion is that the moderator (professor) was obviously attempting to demonstrate that white privilege doesn't exist and doesn't manifest but forces the dialog to address the concept only on an individual level. He's not discussing how white privilege manifests on a social or systemic level (which is how most racism manifests). It ignores the fact that some things manifest on a systemic level affecting groups instead of individuals.

I'm so tired of them having dialogue about things they never intend to fix. The dialogue is merely to convince themselves that black Americans complain for no reason..They just need to tell the truth and stop trying provide a bandaid for wound that is way too huge to cover up..

There's no way an African American can refer to themselves as an "engineer" in any field without their credentials being discredited or questioned. That in itself is a privilege, you see how proud he said it.

Privilege even as a poor white person. More sympathy if you are a drug addict. More chances or lighter sentencing given in the legal system. The benefit of doubt from society. The benefit of having your word trusted quicker with employers, law enforcement, etc. Banks are still being sued for discriminatory lending processes. In the medical arena & the discrepancy in cate received. Their are so many things that we can point to.

How come a whole university class cannot get this. Privillege referes to he credit you are granted before you even open your mouth. It is that simple. Every society has it.

I could be wrong, but I think this is the University of Penn. This professor is trying to make his students believe there is no white privilege or racism in the country. Anybody with half a brain, knows that they exist. Just look who's in the white house. If that's not white privilege I don't know what is. And the people who voted for him are racist. Case closed.
