We didn't appreciate Da Vinci painting Monalisa, we didn't see Shakespeare write Hamlet, but we did watch Pavarotti sing Nessun dorma at his peak.

This is what music is supposed to do. I don’t understand the words but the emotion which it brings is incredible. No other song makes me feel as emotional, as fully aware as this song. I just can’t describe it.

I played this for my father when he died. It was his favorite song. It reminded him of his father, who he missed. Now it reminds me of mine, who I miss.

Most opera singers help you feel an emotion when they sing. Pavarotti was the only one to help you feel what he felt when he sang.
