You can buy your child toys. You can pay for good schools. You can fill their room with everything you never had growing up.
But none of that will tuck them in when fear keeps them awake at 2am.
None of that will talk to them when the world goes silent and they feel alone.
None of that will remind them they are loved, even on the days they feel unworthy.
Teaching my child how to pray is the greatest gift I’ll ever give.
Because when I teach them to fold their hands, I’m not just teaching words.
I’m teaching them where to run when life breaks their heart.
I’m giving them a Father who never leaves, when I can’t always be in the room.
I’m handing them peace that doesn’t depend on grades, money, or people’s approval.
One day my arms won’t be strong enough to carry all their worries.
One day my advice won’t be enough for the battles they’ll face.
But prayer? Prayer will be their anchor long after I’m gone.
So tonight, we won’t just say “goodnight.”
We’ll kneel. We’ll whisper “Thank You.” We’ll say “Help me.”
And I’ll watch my baby learn the one thing that will never fail them:
That they are never alone.
Parents, teach them math, teach them manners, teach them how to chase their dreams.
But first, teach them how to pray.
Because a child who knows how to talk to God will never be lost in this world.
