Durham County has seen a 26% drop in multiple types of crime through the first six months of the year, according to the sheriff’s office.
“The Top 8” crimes -- murder, sex offenses, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary/breaking & entering, larceny (including motor vehicle break-ins), motor vehicle theft and arson are all down for the period of January through June 2025, compared to the same period in 2024.

That poor man who was leaving the gas station! He literally dodged a bullet! The glass was hit right as he was walking out! I'm so happy he's OK!

That poor guy in the gas station must've freaked out because he ran from safety into the line of fire. Maybe he felt trapped, and thought they were coming inside. Sad all across the board.
