Associated Press Tulsi Gabbard resigned as President Donald Trump's director of national intelligence on Friday, saying she needed to step away as her husband battles cancer. She is the fourth Cabinet official to depart during Trump’s second term. “Unfortunately, I must submit my resignation, effective June 30, 2026,” Gabbard wrote in her resignation letter, which she posted on X. “My husband, Abraham, has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer.” Read more: https://bit.ly/4uVL9s8 (3 weeks ago)

Associated Press Kentucky U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie lost his Republican House primary Tuesday after a concerted effort by President Donald Trump to oust him from Congress through challenger and ultimate winner Ed Gallrein. The result showed the president’s persisting influence over GOP voters, adding to a growing number of Trump-backed primary challengers to defeat Republican lawmakers who angered him in his second term. Massie, who has served in Congress since 2012, angered Trump by pushing for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, criticizing the war in Iran and voting against his signature tax legislation last year. Associated Press The Supreme Court on Thursday preserved women’s access to a drug used in the most common method of abortion, rejecting lower-court restrictions while a lawsuit continues. The court’s order allows women seeking abortions to continue obtaining the drug, mifepristone, at pharmacies or through the mail, without an in-person visit to a doctor. Access is likely to remain uninterrupted at least until into next year as the case plays out, including a potential appeal to the high court. The justices granted emergency requests from makers of mifepristone, who are appealing a federal appeals court ruling that would require women to see a doctor in person and halt delivery of mifepristone through the mail. The federal Food and Drug Administration, which first approved mifepristone for use in abortion in 2000, stopped requiring in-person visits five years ago. Associated Press The U.S. State Department will begin revoking the U.S. passports of thousands of parents who owe a significant amount of unpaid child support. The department told The Associated Press that the revocations would begin Friday and be focused on those who owe $100,000 or more. That would apply to about 2,700 American passport holders, according to figures supplied to the State Department by the Department of Health and Human Services. The revocation program, plans for which were first reported by the AP in February, soon will be greatly expanded to cover parents who owe more than $2,500 in unpaid child support — the threshold set by a little-enforced 1996 law, the State Department said. It was not clear how many passport holders owe more than $2,500 because HHS is still collecting data from state agencies that track the figures, but it could encompass many more thousands of people, officials said. This woman did not panic! She was “present” the entire time. Amazing!

The instincts women possess when a baby is involved are incredible

The fact that she fell after the baby fully was out of her grip makes me think she was putting up a fight to keep her baby from not falling

The most important thing was that the woman was alert and calm without panic. She made a really great job!

This is what society is supposed to be. I am so thankful for all people involved in helping this mother.

That man left his wallet on the counter to help the lady

In my eyes she's a hero, more people need to be thought when to notice when someone's having an absence or seizure. Probably saved that baby life.

Props to that woman and the customer that willing held the baby with no hesitation

Just to clarify, as some with epilepsy, it is not possible to fight off a seizure. With medication and an understanding of how you feel before having one, it is possible to control some of the situation. For me, I can still walk in a straight line in the lead up to one. But my speech is what changes, making it hard to express what I’m feeling. The subconscious is a powerful thing. So while she wasn’t making a conscious decision to not have a seizure, her most innate prioritisation contributed to her baby being safe. But ultimately, that subconscious action could only go so far. The shopkeeper is the true hero in this for paying attention.

The fact that the cashier realized what was going on and was able to grab the baby before the lady collapsed is amazing.
MauraPerovich (1 year ago)
She did exactly what any mother would hope another woman would do for them in that state. Poor thing.
maratorres801 (5 years ago)
She was being strong and trying to stay alert until the woman took her baby and then her body finally gave in as soon as the baby was safe.

That clerk had pretty impressive instincts. She's such a sweet lady.
